Craig Piefer
Lead Pastor

Before becoming the Lead Pastor of Valley, Craig was the Family Pastor at Valley for three years.

The decade before, God used him in youth and family ministry, as well as camping ministry, in the great state of Washington.

Craig loves to teach deep truths about God in ways that are understandable, life changing and sometimes funny. He is also passionate about encouraging Jesus-followers to invest in the lives of friends and neighbors here in BV and around the world…not to make a point, but to make a difference.

Craig met his wife Diana in third grade and they were great friends growing up. God has blessed Craig and Diana with two girls, Mia and Lynn, and two boys, Cody and Jace.

Craig enjoys outdoor pursuits of all kinds, but backcountry skiing is his favorite. Craig loves God, Diana, his family, the Church, and wilderness – in that order.

Jase Mayton
Associate Pastor

Jase has served in a variety of roles in churches in both Colorado and his native Texas. He joined the Valley Fellowship staff in June, 2017 as Associate Pastor and leads the church in the areas of missions and adult education.

He attended Howard Payne University and left there with both his degree in philosophy and his wife, Tabitha, whom he met while playing roller-hockey. He then earned a Masters of Arts in Christian Studies from Denver Seminary.

Both Jase and Tabitha love the outdoors where they can be found fishing (Tabitha usually catches more), hiking, or exploring the Jeep trails. In addition, Jase loves mountain biking and skiing with his children (though he has to work hard to keep up with them).

Jase has travelled to five continents serving on short-term mission projects and loves seeing people grow as followers of Jesus from these experiences. In addition he loves teaching the Bible and developing leaders who love to serve Christ.

Deana Wik
Children's Director

deanaDeana was raised on a farm in NW Iowa and accepted Christ as a child. She earned her degree in Christian Education and Bible from Grace University. Deana previously served in children’s ministries in Nebraska and South Dakota, and led as Christian Education Director in her last church.

Deana loves to see God work in the hearts of children and see them grow in their love for Jesus. She is excited about the church partnering with families in the spiritual development of children.

Deana loves living in Buena Vista with her husband, Scott, and teenage daughter, Nicole. The family enjoys skiing, biking, and Bronco football!

Clinton Collier
Youth Director

Clinton joined the staff at Valley Fellowship in 2016 as the Youth Director. Having been a Middle School and High School Youth Pastor for the last 10 years, he is very passionate about investing in the lives of students, to give them practical, biblical truths that they can use to navigate through their formative years.

Clinton grew up in a small town in Iowa. After high school, Clinton went to Faith Baptist Bible College, where he studied Youth Pastoral Ministries. During his sophomore year in college, he met his wife, Kristyn.

Clinton and Kristyn, along with their son Caleb and identical twin daughters Addyson and Alyssa, moved to Buena Vista in 2013.

In Clinton’s spare time, you can find him covered in sawdust, in his workshop. He enjoys building rustic furniture, signs and other commissioned pieces.

Clinton feels blessed to be able to serve alongside the rest of the staff at Valley Fellowship, in helping our youth determine God’s best plan for their lives.

Sara Morand
Nursery Coordinator

Sara Morand and her family moved here in 2013 so her husband Todd, a disabled/retired Marine, could pursue his passion in adaptive skiing. Sara and Todd have lived coast to coast within the US and have three amazingly fun kiddos. She has completed intensive training at The Body Therapy Institute and is a certified Zumba instructor.

Sara was involved in children’s ministry at previous churches, and she volunteered in the nursery at Valley when her youngest child was born. Since becoming Nursery Coordinator, she has worked to ensure that the nursery is a safe and fun environment for babies and toddlers. She also strives to create an enjoyable ministry experience for the nursery volunteer team.

Sara and her family enjoy being involved in their local community: watching their kids in sports or theatrical productions, playing at local parks, reading at the library, grabbing coffee, or playing bumper carts at City Market. They always have a reason to come into town and chat with friends and neighbors.

Patsy Tucker
Worship Director

Patsy coordinates with Pastor Craig to plan the worship services at Valley and oversees the worship musicians, the sound team, and the tech team. She also serves on the deaconess board and is the church financial secretary.

Patsy grew up in south Texas and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, where she met her husband Shannon.

Patsy, Shannon and their children moved to Buena Vista from Austin, Texas in the 1990s, and their youngest child was born here, making them officially “locals.”

Patsy enjoys traveling to faraway places (to visit her daughters) and trying new foods. She volunteers with a ministry that sews and distributes hygiene kits to schoolgirls in developing countries, so that the girls can complete their educations and hopefully escape a life of poverty.

Patsy is thankful to be able to help our congregation express their love for God through music each Sunday.

Bunny Campbell
Ministry Coordinator

Bunny oversees the secretarial duties for Pastor Craig and the Board of Elders. She joined the staff at Valley Fellowship in 2010 as an Administrative Assistant, and became the Ministry Coordinator in 2011.

Bunny grew up in south Texas and graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Education, specializing in Special Education.

Bunny, her husband, Mark, and family moved to Buena Vista in 1996. Mark and Bunny have three grown children and six fun grandchildren. Bunny enjoys reading, shopping, spending time with friends, and (especially) visiting her children and grandchildren.

Bunny is thankful for the opportunity to work with the Valley staff and the church family, and to see God working every day in people’s lives.

Judy Campton
Administrative Assistant

judy_cJudy enjoys working in the office overseeing volunteers, working with the Small Group Ministry and coordinating the First Impressions Team.

Judy and her husband, Chuck are natives of Chaffee County and have lived in Buena Vista over 40 years, moving to the area from Wheat Ridge, Colorado. They raised their three children here and now enjoy being involved in the lives of their six grandchildren, who now are scattered coast to coast. Visiting everyone makes travel one of their favorite things to do.

Both Chuck and Judy are involved in numerous ministries at Valley Fellowship. Judy loves using her people skills to minister to the needs of the church family.

Shannon Tucker
Staff-Elder Team Liaison

Shannon serves as a connection point between the staff team and the elder leadership team.

Shannon grew up in Texas and graduated with a business degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He and his wife, Patsy, run a small tech consulting business. The Tuckers have made Buena Vista and Valley Fellowship their home since the 1990s, and they raised their children here.

Shannon loves serving, leading, and growing at Valley. In his spare time, he enjoys playing music and fishing the local streams. He is thankful for the privilege of serving Jesus and the people of Valley Fellowship.

Elder Leadership Team

Valley Fellowship has an Elder Leadership Team that works with Pastor Craig and Pastor Jase to help shepherd, teach, lead, and pray for our congregation. Feel free to contact any of them.
